He was the first naturalist that was mentioned in this book about evolution. He was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England on 12 February 1809 and died on 19 April 1882. He demolished the old theory about evolution with two books:

ON THE ORIGIN OF SPECIES

by means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.
